Make plans to join Community Development leaders from across New York State for
NYS CDFIs: Making It Possible!
Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) are uniquely positioned to support and sustain efforts to address urgent climate needs in their communities.
On March 25-26, Community Development leaders from across New York State will gather in Albany for our 2024 conference, titled NYS CDFIs: Making it Possible. Our Keynote Event will be a conversation with the team behind the highly-anticipated publication, titled “What’s Possible: Investing Now for Prosperous, Sustainable Neighborhoods.” The book draws on the expertise of 30 leading climate and community development leaders who lay out the challenges facing communities on the front lines of climate change.
Our Keynote Panel welcomes three of those experts and will be moderated by an award-winning environmental justice advocate. Together, they will discuss the charge to create climate-resilient neighborhoods, the practical aspects of ensuring that clean energy is affordable at the family level, and the important role that Community Lenders can play in making it all possible. Published by Enterprise Community Partners, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the book will be available in April 2024.
The conference will also feature the very latest developments on CDFI Certification and Federal and New York State funding for CDFIs. We hope you will make plans to join us!
The panel of chapter authors will be moderated by Aaron Mair, an environmental justice pioneer who has worked for 40 years in the spaces of health, environment, and climate change disparities. He is an urban environmentalist activist, and a regional and national environmental justice organizer and strategist. He has advised two presidents and Congress, and served as the Sierra Club’s 57th president. He currently leads the Adirondack Council’s “Forever Adirondacks” initiative, and recently returned from the United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change, COP28.
The Keynote Discussion and Reception is included for all Conference attendees,
but standalone event tickets will also be available to the public for $40.
Conference and Keynote tickets will be available from EventBrite starting February 1, 2024.
